Incident: Wildfires

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • On Sept. 3, 2026, we approved the Nevada Division of Social Services (NDSS) request to waive the 10-day reporting requirement for food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages due to wildfires that began on Aug. 24, 2026. The waiver applies to the following ZIP codes: 89835, 89425, and 89426. The waiver is in effect through Sept. 14, 2026.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • On Aug. 28, 2026, we approved the Nevada Division of Social Services (NDSS) request to modify and extend the 10-day reporting requirement for food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages due to wildfires that began on Aug. 8, 2026. The initial waiver was approved on Aug. 19, 2026, and applied to ZIP codes: 89408, 89424, 89436, 89441, 89442, 89506, 89508, and 89510. This modification approval includes ZIP codes: 89439, 89503, and 89523. The extension allows the waiver to run through Sept. 7, 2026, for all approved ZIP codes.
  • On Aug. 19, 2026, we approved the Nevada Division of Social Services (NDSS) request to waive the 10-day reporting requirement for food purchased with SNAP benefits that was lost as a result of power outages due to wildfires that began on Aug. 8, 2026. The waiver applies to the following ZIP codes: 89408, 89424, 89436, 89441, 89442, 89506, 89508, and 89510. The waiver is in effect through Aug. 28, 2026.
